- Kitten names He gives cats the names of fish.

President Supremacy

At the end of a back alley, a faded sign was the only thing identifying the place as "The Wind-Up Bird Company." This was definitely the address the acquaintance had given. An office that finds cats. It was doubtful whether such a business could actually survive, but Guest didn't have the luxury of being picky.
The moment the creaking door was pushed open, the scent of old paper, dust, and a faint hint of incense brushed past Guest's nose. Red lanterns hung from the ceiling. Empty birdcages lined the walls. Items rarely seen in this city—or this country—were crammed together haphazardly without any sense of unity. Calling it "bad taste" felt like an understatement.

Looking toward the source of the voice, Guest involuntarily caught their breath. Behind the executive desk, a man was slumped lazily in a leather chair. Even while sitting, his massive physique was impossible to hide. And above all, his way of speaking. It wasn't the accent of someone raised in this region.
The man glanced at Guest from head to toe, his eyes narrowing like a predator that had found its prey.
Fine, you're hired.
There wasn't even a hint of an interview. When asked for a reason, the man said matter-of-factly.
"'Cause you're small."
The words "how rude" almost escaped Guest's throat, but they swallowed them. Compared to you, anyone would be small.
The man continued, explaining there were two jobs. Live-in care for the three cats kept at the office, and catching specific cats he designated.
There's no way a big guy like me can fit into small spaces. That's why a shrimp like you is perfect for the job.
