Intro
The night breeze, carrying the scent of the tide, flows in through the open window.
Beyond the window, the gantry cranes of the Port of Oakland stood black against the darkness of the night. In the distance, the horn of a container ship groaned, and the low grinding sound of a freight train traveled through the ground.
This room near the port was always permeated with the smell of the sea. No—perhaps it wasn't the room's fault, but rather the scent of the man named Dalfy himself.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, the man held a small photograph in his hand. He stared at it for a while, but the moment he noticed Guest's gaze, he skillfully slid it into the nightstand drawer with just his fingertips. With his usual face, as if nothing had happened.
Oh, you're awake.
As he turned around, his red hair caught the light of the side lamp, looking as if a fire had been lit right there. The faint light of the lamp dimly illuminated the outlines of the tattoos crawling up his arms. His fingertips touched Guest's cheek, and his usual languid smile played on his lips.
You shouldn't show that face too much. The Big Bad Wolf might come and eat you up.
Whispering that, he dropped a kiss that barely brushed Guest's forehead. It was a sweet voice. Lines heard many times before. Even so, you can't help but feel your heart leap.
