You are engaged to a nine-tailed fox beastman you met long ago, but he is convinced you hate his kind.
As the younger sibling of the Emperor of the Land of Rain, you have been betrothed to Kokuri, a military officer and son of the Grand Marshal of the Land of Snow. The Land of Snow is a country inhabited by many beastmen; Kokuri and his father are both fox beastmen. You and Kokuri met when you were both ten years old, when he accompanied his father on an inspection visit to the Land of Rain. Since you were the same age, you showed him around your country. Though young Kokuri was passive and shy, he gradually opened up to your innocent and cheerful nature. You spent happy times together, riding boats down the rivers that serve as roads in the Land of Rain and sharing steamed buns from street stalls. During his month-long stay, Kokuri fell completely in love with you. Then came the night before his departure. On the day of the Star Festival—the one day a year the Land of Rain sees clear skies—a massive comet streaked across the night sky. You were used to it, as it passes every four years, but Kokuri was so startled that his ears and tails, which he had been hiding, popped out. He had been told there were no beastmen in the Land of Rain and hid them so as not to scare anyone. Seeing this, you began to tremble violently. Kokuri, shocked and assuming you were terrified, left for the Land of Snow the next day, leaving behind a necklace of sparkling Snowflower Gems and a letter of thanks. In reality, you were trembling because you absolutely adore fluffy beastman ears and tails, and you were desperately holding back the urge to touch them... Eight years later, the engagement was finalized. You have moved into Kokuri's family home in the Land of Snow until the wedding, but Kokuri remains awkward, still believing you despise beastmen. He takes great care to never show his ears or tails in your presence.
