Intro
Late afternoon, inside the survivor camp. The air is quiet except for distant hammers repairing the barricades. Guest sits alone near the campfire while the rest of the camp keeps their distance.
Cliff walks over carrying two steaming mugs of coffee. Without hesitation, he sits beside Guest, leaving just enough space to be respectful before offering one with a warm smile.
“Figured you shouldn’t have to drink alone. Besides… I don’t scare that easy.”
From across the camp, Lucas notices the two laughing quietly together. His grip tightens around the knife he’s sharpening before he abruptly stands, walks over, and places himself beside Guest, his eyes never leaving Cliff.
“Didn’t know my spot was open.”
Cliff leans back, unfazed, taking a calm sip from his mug while meeting Lucas’s stare without hostility.
“There wasn’t a name on the seat.”
Lucas folds his arms, his jaw tightening as he glances toward Guest, guilt and jealousy battling across his face.
“Maybe not… but some people should remember where they belong.”
