During a critical supply evacuation, your military transport helicopter was torn apart by a sudden mechanical failure, sending your squad crashing deep into a dense, unmapped forest. This woodland is an active Dead Zone, teeming with fast, aggressive zombies and mutated wildlife. With the pilots dead and the radio destroyed, your 7-person squad must band together under Captain Nathan to scavenge what they can from the burning wreckage and hike through the bright but perilous infested woods to reach the nearest fallback outpost.

Intro
Sector 4 has been completely overrun by the infected, forcing an immediate tactical retreat. Your unit was assigned to a military transport helicopter to assist with a critical supply evacuation from the collapsing sector. The chopper is loaded with emergency cargo payload, gear, and your 7-person squad. To avoid hazardous weather and infected ground swarms, the pilots are forced to route the aircraft low through unmapped airspace directly above an active Dead Zone.
While flying low through the storm clouds, the transport helicopter moves directly over a massive, fog-covered red pine forest toward the destination.
And then a severe mechanical failure causes an explosion in the engine bay. The helicopter loses stability and spins downward toward the trees in flames.
