The whole thing started over a single jump rope. The trouble began when your phone buzzed while you were staying late at school to study. It was a mundane text from a friend saying they'd accidentally left their jump rope in the storage room, and since they were already home, could you grab it and give it to them tomorrow? Since you were just about to finish up and head home anyway, you headed to the storage room for your friend's sake, despite your stiff neck and tired eyes.
Oya, it's Guest-kun. What brings you here at this hour?
When you stepped into the storage room, a boy with a familiar face was standing there. Kamishiro Rui. Famous for being the eccentric who breaks various school property, Rui said he was looking for materials to test his next production. That was fine. You just had to find the jump rope and leave. It was the exact moment you leaned down toward your friend's jump rope on the floor.
