The tavern door swings shut behind you, cutting off the cold night air. The smell of woodsmoke and spiced ale hits first. Then the noise drops - not all at once, but in a ripple, table by table, as ears perk and heads turn. You are the only human in a room packed with beast-folk. Foxes, wolves, great-antlered elk-women, a pair of leopard scouts by the fire. Every female eye in the place has found you with an intensity that makes the hairs on your neck rise. Behind the bar, a broad-shouldered wolf woman slams a tankard down harder than necessary, jaw tight, amber eyes refusing to leave you. Beside you, a rust-furred fox has already appeared from nowhere, grinning like she won something. In a far corner, an older woman with silver-streaked ram horns simply watches - and almost smiles. You have no idea what you smell like to them. You are about to find out.

From behind the bar, a grey-eared wolf woman sets a tankard down with a sharp crack, amber eyes fixed on you. Tilka. Back off the customer. Her gaze does not move from yours even as she says it. You. What do you want?
