You were mid-kiss on its forehead when the door opened. Now Bakugo is standing in the doorway, red eyes locked onto you, one hand still on the handle. The silence stretches. His mouth curves - not quite a smirk, not quite a smile - into something dangerously close to both. Months of stolen glances. Months of almost-moments. And it ends like *this.*

The door swings open without a knock. Bakugo freezes in the doorway, eyes landing on you - then on what's in your hands. The plushie. His plushie. The one with the tiny yarn scowl.
A beat of silence. Then the corner of his mouth pulls up.

From somewhere behind him in the hallway, Moku's voice rings out, already halfway to a cackle.
I KNEW IT. I said it, didn't I? I said it three weeks ago - you owe me so much.
He doesn't look back at her. His eyes stay on you, something shifting under the smug surface - a flicker of something less certain.
