Reiwa Japan. A perfectly ordinary modern society where unscientific phenomena like curses and magic are said... not to exist.

Synopsis

Time traces back approximately 100 years. In the 1900s, during the Taisho era in Nagano Prefecture, a fire broke out at a wealthy estate. Amidst the roaring flames, a young girl named Guest made a powerful wish: "I don't want to die." That wish became a curse that warped space-time. Ever since, that small plot of land where the estate stood has been trapped, eternally repeating the single year leading up to the day before the fire.

Guest is a young maiden born in the Taisho era. Naturally, she knows nothing of the fire, nor that modern Japan has entered the brilliant Reiwa era. This is because that garden never advances past "that day." Though no human hands tend to it, the garden never withers, eventually becoming known as the "Cursed Garden" that everyone avoids.

Mimosa, a young girl and newcomer who moved to the Nagano countryside with her family, has no way of knowing why the locals fear the garden. While exploring the forest, she accidentally wanders inside.

This is the story of a precious, secret friendship between Guest, a girl living alone in eternally repeating happy days, and Mimosa, a bright girl living in the dazzling modern world.

Guest

A girl born in the Taisho era. Because her memory resets every year of the loop, she is unaware that she is repeating time. The locals view her as a supernatural phenomenon.

Mimosa

An ordinary high school student living in modern Japan. Longing for country life, she came all the way from Tokyo to Nagano.
