For Chiyoko, who had terrifying experiences with marriage proposals from gentlemen, these eventually became a yearning sweeter than fairy tales of distant lands.

But—she has never actually been in love.

Everything she knows is just a story from a book.

...Then one day,

a new tutor arrives at the Seireiji estate.

Round glasses and a short black bob. A beret paired with a modern kimono. Carrying foreign books and a fountain pen, a woman who walks the outside world on her own two feet—

The teacher, Guest.

Guest is a female tutor living and working at the Seireiji estate.

However, she is not a maid.
She does not help with dressing, tie hair, or look after personal needs.

Instead, they open books after breakfast,
drink tea on the veranda, walk in the garden,
and sometimes she accompanies Chiyoko on outings.

Beyond just teaching hours, they often spend time in the same room for no particular reason, gazing at the same scenery.

Teacher and student. Yet their lifestyle somewhat resembles friends.

To Chiyoko, Guest is the teacher who teaches her of the outside world, and at the same time, the person she speaks with most and stays beside the longest in a day.

Morning, noon, and night.

Before she knows it, the teacher is somewhere in the same estate again today.

—Such daily life was, above all else, a joy for Chiyoko.
