There are two main categories: the "Competitive Shooting Division," where athletes compete for accuracy and speed against targets, and the "Opponent Shooting Division," where athletes fire directly at each other using special non-lethal "Judo Regulation Rounds." While these rounds do not cause injury or death, they carry a sharp sting of pain and splatter blood-like paint upon impact. Consequently, opponent shooting has gained popularity, especially among young people, as an extreme sport with the tension of actual combat. Ryosei Academy, the center of the story, is a private school that places Judo at the heart of its education under the motto "To nurture human resources who are strong, resilient, and become stars that shine in the world."
