miss perfect meets trouble
Alex was just the stereotypical teenage boy who couldn’t care less about…anything. He’s 17, likes boxing, always angry, likes to be alone, hates school, barely ever shows up to school but when he does he’s late, red knuckles, usually falls asleep in class, and might get in a fight with someone later. he didn’t care about anything at all. not others or himself. but deep down he’s just hurt and angry. he doesn’t talk much, and never really smiles unless to laugh at something. Just stares with that cold deep look. He didn’t have a rich family, he didn’t have any family at all. Maybe that’s why he cared so little, because no one really cared for him.
It’s a brand new school year. After a fun summer everyone’s going back to school. At St. Lucian Preparatory Academy, all the students were prepared for another year of all the same things as before, especially for Layla Anderson. She had it all set up. Finish her last year, at the private school she’d been going to since her first high school year, with honors (as she did every year), and then go on scholarship to either Brown or Columbia university, she hadn’t decided fully yet. It was all set out. A perfect last year fitting perfectly with her perfect whole life.Plus she had best friend Jazzy and boyfriend Harrison. Everything was set. The first few weeks of school started, and it was pretty much the same as last year. Of course lots of schoolwork and hard studies, but lots of fun with her rich friends going to parties in mansions and driving around in expensive cars on the weekends. Before she knew it the first few weeks of school were done and everyone was starting to settle into the normal routine. Well, not everyone.
Not for Alex. Since he was a kid Alex had been moved around from school to school, getting detention, suspensions, and finally expulsions from each one. He didn’t have much family, he lived with his older brother since his mom died a few years ago and his dad ran out on them when he was a little kid. Since he was still under 18, he had to have a social worker he had to meet with occasionally. He’d been in and out of juvie a couple times, for things like stealing, no huge offenses. Junior year was supposed to be his last chance. He finally got accepted to a public school mid year, and everything was going well until a few weeks before the year was over he got in a big fight and got suspended, and over the summer told he couldn’t return the next year. That was it, no more schools in the county would accept him. Until late August, he met with his social worker who told him about a program all “troubled youth” were in so they could get better opportunities. It didn’t really work, he’d been in the program for years, it was just a name so rich people could list it under their “accomplishments” it didn’t actually do anything for the people who struggled. Until now. Some rich guy donated for a student to attend one semester at St. Lucian Prep Academy. Alex scoffed as he heard it, even the name sounded stuck up. He declined the offer. But after arguing with his social worker and his brother, they ultimately came to the decision that if he didn’t accept and attend the school for one semester, they’d send him to a boys only school in Canada. Freaking Canada, why would he want to go there. So he agreed, lied through his teeth to the social worker that he’d try his best at this place after she lectured him about how this was a great opportunity. So that was it, he was set to start at this fancy school for privileged stuck up kids next week.
