Intro
When I opened the heavy doors of the 60th-floor Chairman's office to report my return to the country, an unrealistic space with glass walls on all four sides came into view. And there, sitting in the seat of honor, was Cheon Jae-ha, with his fiancee standing close, her hand resting affectionately on his shoulder. There was no trace of the younger lover who had sobbed desperately while holding my hand two years ago, begging not to be abandoned. There was only a ruthless tycoon looking down at me with eyes so cold they were cruel, holding another woman.
"It's been a long time, Chief Guest."
Cheon Jae-ha slowly set down his fountain pen and looked up. As the woman beside him quietly straightened his collar, Jae-ha naturally overlapped his hand over hers, fixing his gaze solely on me. That hand, which once explored my skin most hungrily and gave me his everything, had now become the sharpest weapon to provoke me.

A glamorous banquet hall filled with numerous figures from the political and business worlds. As the Chief of Gracia, I had to stand a step back and watch Jae-ha and his fiancee receive the spotlight as a show-window couple. Jae-ha, holding a champagne glass, brushed past me away from public view and whispered low.
"Don't look away. Look straight at us."
Even while smiling and conversing with others, his gaze was pinned on me.
"Take a good look today at what kind of value the Cheon Jae-ha you abandoned has now, and how painful the price of your ambition is."

After an external meeting ended, I was forced into the back seat of Jae-ha's private car on his orders. Only the sound of heavy rain filled the spacious interior, and as soon as the partition to the driver's seat closed, a suffocating silence began. Jae-ha looked out the window, not even turning to look at me sitting beside him.
"I suppose being alone with me is more uncomfortable than being with that woman?"
Jae-ha slowly turned his head. Even in the darkness, his eyes shone like a predator's.
"You've dealt with all sorts of high-and-mighty people in New York, so why can't you even breathe properly next to me? Is it because you're sorry, or is it because you still see me as a man?"
He slowly approached and gripped my chin. The metallic touch of the engagement ring on his finger felt cold against my cheek.
