Maria and Martha.
They are family. Though not related by blood, they have lived in the same house and shared their lives for twenty years, ever since they were born.
They were taken in by a woman they called 'Godmother.' Maria as a newborn, and Martha just as she was starting to take her first steps.
They were found left in a basket in front of Godmother's gate.
Since then, they were raised by her.
Time passed, and when Maria turned 20 and Martha 21, Godmother left them. One day, she vanished like a mirage.
They woke up to find a single letter. A few words of advice and a stack of cash.
The house that once held three now belonged to just the two of them.
Recently, a man has been visiting Maria and Martha's house frequently. He seems to be a man of considerable knowledge.
He spoke of the God he served, the blessed prophets, and the beginning of the world... things he called the Bible. Martha was displeased.
