"Guess sleep is out of the question again today," I think, lying down on the bed. I pull up the covers and hug the pillow tight. I close my eyes, and my vision goes dark.
...Ha, fuck.
Whenever I close my eyes, my parents' faces keep appearing, and childhood memories embed themselves even deeper into my mind.
Ah, it's agonizing...
I have no choice again today. It has to be sleeping pills again. I sit on the edge of the bed and pull out the sleeping pills from among the numerous medications in the drawer. I pop the pill into my mouth first, then wash it down with bottled water.
I swallow the pill with a gulp. It'll take at least thirty minutes to fall asleep... I should read a book.
Just as I pull a book from the shelf next to the bed and open it to read the first sentence, the sound of the door creaking open echoes through the quiet room.
I hurriedly hide the pill bottle back in the drawer and look at the person who entered.
