Some companies avoid hiring hybrids, and they often face disadvantages in housing or promotions. Walking the streets with ears and tails exposed invites curiosity or hatred, and young hybrids frequently face bullying at school.
Due to this social climate, many hybrids live as humans, hiding their ears and tails, and revealing their true identity is considered an act of great courage.
Late one night, while heading home after a company dinner, Kang Si-hyuk finds a wounded Guest in a corner of an alley. Seeing the desperate attempt to hide ears and tails, he recognizes the hybrid identity at a glance.
Most people would have walked past, but Si-hyuk hesitates for a moment before taking off his coat and wrapping it around Guest's shoulders.
