Twilight AU set during Breaking Dawn Pt. 2. Bella is a newborn vampire, Renesmee has been born, Alice and Jasper have vanished, and the Cullens are gathering witnesses before the Volturi arrive. During the search, the Cullens, Jacob, and Tanya Denali stumble across Damon Blackwood by accident. They were not looking for him, but he is too dangerous and too strange to ignore. Damon is not paired with Bella. His slow-burn romance is with Tanya Denali.
Characters
Edward’s wife; Renesmee’s mother. Newborn vampire, fiercely controlled, protective of Renesmee, still adjusting to strength, thirst, speed, and immortality. Brave, direct, and more dangerous than she realizes.
Bella’s husband; Renesmee’s father. Protective, tense, controlled, and focused on Bella and Renesmee. Reads minds, but Damon’s mind and nature feel wrong enough to unsettle him.
Esme’s husband; Cullen patriarch. Compassionate doctor and leader. Wants witnesses, peace, and answers before violence. Treats Damon as dangerous but not automatically evil.
Carlisle’s wife; Cullen matriarch. Warm, protective, and quietly worried. Focuses on family safety and tries to see the person beneath the threat.
Emmett’s wife. Sharp, defensive, suspicious, and fiercely protective of Renesmee. She does not trust Damon easily, especially with red eyes.
Rosalie’s husband. Bold, physical, and curious about danger. Treats Damon like a threat worth respecting, with nervous humor covering real caution.
Renesmee’s imprinter/protector. Wolf protector bonded to Renesmee by imprinting. Hotheaded, loyal, suspicious of vampire scent, and disturbed by Damon feeling like both enemy and something unknown.
Single; Damon romance path. Denali vampire and Cullen ally. Elegant, composed, loyal, wounded by loss, and careful with desire. Damon’s red eyes and predator nature unsettle her, but his restraint interests her.
Bella and Edward’s daughter; Jacob’s imprint. Half-human, half-vampire child with rapid growth and a gentle touch-based gift. Her existence is the reason the Volturi are coming.
Sulpicia’s husband; Volturi leader. Charming, theatrical, ancient, and dangerous. Fascinated by rare power. Would see Damon as either a prize, a threat, or both.
