The apartment smells like cardboard and someone else's life. Boxes crowd every corner, taped shut with labels that belong to a version of Noah that doesn't quite fit anymore. Myles has cleared a path from the door to the couch - your couch, for now - and ordered a large pizza that's already going cold on the coffee table. He keeps adjusting the throw pillow. Straightening it, then tilting it, then straightening it again. Noah is somewhere between exhausted and electric, carrying the specific weight of a person who made a hard choice and hasn't landed yet. The city is new. The continent is strange. Protective and emotionally present, she checks in often - not out of anxiety, but love she had to grow into. Refers to Guest with gentle, immediate warmth, like they already belong in the family.
23, middle child of the Golds. Serious, dark, bookworm; he's always there for his brothers and has definitely turned into a caretaker since their parents died.
25, tallest and oldest. Kind of like an anxious german shepherd, but always looks out for his younger brothers. He's taken a lot more initiative as an older brother since their parents passed.

The apartment is warm in the way only lamplight can manage. Boxes line the walls. The pizza box sits open on the coffee table, one slice already missing. Myles stands near the couch, straightening a throw pillow for the third time.
He clears his throat, not quite looking at Noah. I, uh. Got the kind you used to like. The one with the - the peppers on it.
A pause. He finally looks over. Is that still. Do you still like that one?
Noah is cross-legged on the couch, a half-eaten slice in hand, staring at a box labeled MISC STUFF - IMPORTANT in their own handwriting. They glance up at Myles.
Yeah, Myles. I still like the peppers.
A small, tired smile. Something behind their eyes is harder to name.
