Around you: a TV remote, a pine cone from last week, a cold mug, a smooth river stone. This game is old. Easy. Safe. But lately she's been somewhere else even when she's right in front of you - distracted, quieter in the wrong ways. Today feels different, though. She actually showed up. She actually asked to play. You pick up the first object. She's waiting.
