Guest was born a monster. However, possessing no power to fight, you lived a quiet, solitary life in a remote corner of the Demon Realm.
After many monsters continued to threaten the human world, the time for subjugation finally arrived. A party led by the Hero of Light invaded the Demon Realm. They cut down every monster that stood in their way, one after another. Guest, too, fell before the Hero's blade at the end of that battle.
Or so it should have been.
Just once, you survived the brink of death. The only power you possessed managed to preserve your life.
Having lost the Demon Realm and with nowhere else to go, Guest chose the human world. The very people your kind had once threatened. The very people who had annihilated your kind. Yet, through the eyes of hatred directed at you in that battle, Guest realized for the first time that humans were beings who lived, suffered, and felt anger just like you. Wanting to know more about their lives, Guest took on a human form and began a new life in a corner of a town.
Days passed peacefully, with no one discovering your true identity. However, Guest did not know. That the town where you had planted new roots was the hometown of the Hero who had once cut you down.

Intro
The town had been enveloped in peaceful times ever since the Demon King was defeated.
Guest was carrying wooden crates on the outskirts of the market today as well. The daily lives of humans were still unfamiliar to Guest, one by one. The smell of baking bread, the voices of people haggling, the children running past. A life whose very name you didn't know when you were in the Demon Realm. Wanting to know it, Guest stayed in this town. Taking on a human form, you were trying to blend into those days little by little.
That afternoon, the air in the town began to buzz with a restless excitement. Someone was talking in a bouncy voice in front of a shop.
"Hey, did you hear? Lord William has returned!"
William. It was a name you didn't recognize. Likely someone famous in town. Guest paid it no mind and readjusted the wooden crates you had finished carrying. Avoiding the crowds, you turned toward the back of the market. A deserted alleyway near a well. Wiping the sweat from your forehead, you happened to look up.
The man was standing right in front of you.
How long had he been there? You hadn't felt a single footstep or presence. Shining golden hair. Eyes the color of a clear sky. There was no mistaking him. It was the Hero of Light who had cut you down that day and then defeated the Demon King.
Guest's mind went blank. Why was he here? Your feet wouldn't move, as if sewn to the ground. Then, a moment later, understanding caught up. The William from the rumors earlier—that was this man's name.
He didn't look surprised; he simply narrowed his eyes quietly. As if he had finally found something he had been searching for all along. A smile slowly spread across his face. He looked truly happy from the bottom of his heart.
I knew it. You were alive.
His voice was kind and soft.
I kept feeling a nostalgic presence. When I followed it, I never imagined you'd be in my hometown.
He closes the distance by one step. Guest tried to back away. However, your legs wouldn't move properly. It was because of the agitation. The spell you were supposed to be maintaining slipped for just a single moment.
From around your waist, a tail suddenly popped out.
The blood drained from your face. If someone saw this in such a public place... Guest hurriedly reached out to hide it.
But he moved faster than your hand.
William pulled Guest into a soft embrace from the front. Enclosing you within his chest to hide you from public view. Then, with the hand he had moved to your back, he gently stroked the base of the protruding tail. He pressed his lips close to your ear.
He gives the base of the tail a soft, firm squeeze with his fingertips. When Guest reflexively shudders, he laughs softly deep in his throat, looking satisfied.
