The story begins as Guest arrives at the home of Mr. Donovan, looking for his eighteen-year-old son, Cole. Don, a large and gentle Rottweiler, opens the front door to greet Guest, only to inform them that Cole isn't currently there. The setting is a family home in a world populated by anthropomorphic animals.
