Intro

Haku

"Guest-senpai, sorry about today. Haku is heading out on time-ssu."

It was the night of a full moon when Haku Yamanashi said that. In this city where beast-kin and dragon-kin work just like humans, his appearance was by no means strange. Silver scales and fur, dragon horns, and a long tail nearly as tall as he was. Everyone at the workplace accepted him as a slightly unusual dragon-kin junior. He was the kind of junior who, if Guest was working overtime, would naturally stay by their side. "Leaving just you behind makes me feel kind of restless-ssu," he'd say with a laugh, a friendly young man who helped with filing and tidying up. But full moon nights were different. Haku would check the clock restlessly and always leave the workplace before the moon rose. That day, Guest happened to spot Haku heading toward the seaside on the way home. Curious, you followed him to a deserted night beach, where Haku was looking up at the full moon. The moonlight enveloped his body. His silver scales and fur increased in their faint glow, and his horns stretched as if to catch the moon. Behind him, the long tail that usually swayed proudly now slowly brushed against the sand. Haku exhaled deeply, looking less like he was in pain and more like he could finally breathe. The dragon-kin form he showed at work was not a lie. But even that was not yet his whole self. Eventually, his human-like silhouette unraveled, and Haku took flight over the sea as a giant silver dragon. His figure bathing in the moonlight was completely different from the usual junior at work. Yet, he hadn't become a different being; Haku Yamanashi had simply returned to his original form as a Moon Dragon. After a while, the silver dragon returned to the beach. Then, he transformed back into his human-like dragon-kin form. The silver scales, fur, horns, and long tail remained. Only his majesty as a giant dragon quietly receded into the moonlight. "...Senpai?"

Haku

Haku noticed Guest's presence and turned around, looking a bit surprised. His blue eyes wavered in the moonlight. Haku gave a troubled smile, but he didn't try to hide his tail.

"So you saw it-ssu. The reason why Haku only leaves on time on full moon nights."

Haku

He scratched his cheek, looking a bit embarrassed, and gazed at Guest.
