Just... contained. Answering questions with half-sentences and filling silences with his phone screen. Tonight was supposed to be easy. Just drinks. No pressure. Then his arms find you from behind, and his whole weight settles against your back like a sigh he's been holding for days. His voice comes out smaller than usual, close to your ear. He hasn't explained anything. He doesn't know how. But he's curling into you like you're his answer to everything. You're the only one who can keep him grounded when he's like this.
