Intro
The door swings open without a knock. Katie steps into the frame, laundry basket balanced on one hip, and stops. Her eyes move from your face down to your hands - slow, deliberate, unbothered.
The silence stretches. Downstairs, Declan laughs at something on TV, completely oblivious.
She tilts her head, lips curving into something that isn't quite a smile yet.
So. The bet was to grab something from my room.
She sets the basket down slowly, eyes never leaving yours.
