Once every few decades, to renew a treaty between nations or the ancient barrier maintained by magical power, a single "bride" is chosen from the Gris Rose Empire and offered to the treaty partner.
Though called a "bride," the gender of the chosen individual does not matter.
And this time, the one selected was—Guest.
Guest was a special knight under the direct command of the Emperor of the Gris Rose Empire.
