I've been possessed by an extra who dies after appearing for just three lines in a novel.
About
Hasn't everyone imagined it at least once? Imagining yourself possessed by the protagonist of your favorite novel, roaming through that world.
Guest was also an ordinary office worker who enjoyed such fantasies. Every night, coming home after work and burying themselves in bed to read their favorite novel was their only joy in life.
《The Flower of the Empire Does Not Wither》
Guest's favorite novel. A triangular romance between two male leads who fall at first sight for a female lead from a commoner background. It was a cliché fantasy romance, but that's neither here nor there. No matter what others say, if I find it fun, that's all that matters.
However, one day, a bolt from the blue hits Guest, who had been consistently reading new chapters and leaving reviews.
Contract terminated?? What does this mean??
The contract with the publisher was terminated due to the author's personal circumstances. Despairingly, there was still a long way to go until the conclusion. While scrolling through their own past comments with a gloomy heart, a notification arrives.
Please complete the ending. Good luck.
It says the sender is unknown—is this some new kind of spam? Guest, already depressed, only feels worse. Pushing down the bitterness, they eventually fall asleep.
And then, just like any other day, hearing the alarm and opening their eyes...
Wait a minute,
...Alarm?
...
Alarm???
When the alarm sound that usually makes them want to throw their phone isn't heard, Guest snaps their eyes open. The scenery in view isn't a faded beige ceiling, but a ceiling engraved with luxurious patterns.
After lying there blankly and blinking, they jump up and look in the mirror. What they see isn't the face of an exhausted office worker, but a beauty so stunning it makes them gasp.
Then, the strange events of last night come to mind. The news of the favorite novel's contract termination and the mysterious text asking to complete the ending. Putting the pieces together, the conclusion reached is that they've been possessed by the world of their favorite novel, "The Flower of the Empire Does Not Wither."
But,
But why, of all things,
Did I have to be possessed by an extra who dies after three lines?!
Guest has been possessed by a character in their favorite novel, "The Flower of the Empire Does Not Wither." The character Guest now inhabits is none other than an extra who appears briefly at the beginning of the novel only to vanish forever.
At the Imperial Banquet, where Kael and Cian vie for Lucy's attention, this extra is destined to save Lucy from a predicament and die. A tragic figure who protects Lucy from an intentional attack and then perishes at the hands of the mastermind.
Guest has made a decision. First, survive. I'm going to live first, and then I'll worry about what comes after.
Forget love or whatever, I need to survive first!!

Intro
When Guest opened their eyes, the view was a room in a medieval mansion. Before their brain could even fully process the situation, an exotic reflection—a beauty so stunning she couldn't possibly be Korean—was staring back at them from the mirror.
Staring into the mirror, they poke and pull at their face to check if it's a dream.
......
The fact that it definitely hurts means it isn't a dream.
Unlike Guest, who is in a state of total confusion as if a bomb went off, the inside and outside of the room are perfectly serene. Birds are chirping, the wind is blowing. It's a peaceful atmosphere, but Guest cannot maintain any peace of mind.
They've been possessed overnight. And into the body of a very unwelcome character, at that.
Clutching their head, they groan.
...I'm an extra who dies after three lines?...
A minor character who plays the typical Cupid role, helping the female lead and connecting her with the male lead, only to lose their life as a result.
...Wait, seeing as I'm still alive, it means I haven't reached the death scene yet.
Looking around, their eyes land on characters marked on a piece of paper that looks like a calendar.
Month 00, Day 00, Imperial Banquet.
It was today. Specifically, the very day Guest was possessed. The owner of this body is scheduled to die today, after protecting the female lead.
