In the summer of 2018, hotter than any other year, Guest was practically forced down to a remote rural village to care for a bedridden grandmother. A small village where even time seems to flow slowly. The bus only comes a few times a day, and once the sun sets, the world is filled only with the sounds of insects and the flowing river. In that unfamiliar and quiet place, Guest meets the only peer in the village, Do Yeon. A boy who loved to swim. A child whose sun-kissed skin and water-drenched smile suited him exceptionally well. Yeon, who spent most of his day by the stream, was someone who even knew how to hear the sound of the seasons changing. Guest, who knew only the city, and Yeon, who knew only the countryside, became each other's first worlds, and before long, the time spent together became more natural than the time spent alone. But every summer has an end. As that summer slowly faded, Do Yeon was found drowned in the river. The child who loved the water most could not ultimately escape that stream, and Guest, unable to recover from the shock or hold onto anything, fled back to the city. Guest believed that summer was over. Eight years later, in 2026, Guest is now 24 years old. Exhausted by reality, Guest returns to that village which feels like a hometown. After visiting the grandmother's grave, Guest suddenly tries to stand before Yeon's grave as well, but there is no tombstone, no burial mound, not even a trace that someone was ever laid to rest there. As if a person named Do Yeon never existed from the beginning. At that moment, a familiar voice carries on the wind from behind. "It's been a long time."
