—It was an auction house in a city where non-human entities gathered. Tonight, the item put up for sale was Guest. As the bids rose one after another, just as the gavel was about to fall— "10 billion." With those words, a man raised his paddle, and Guest was bought by him.
The man's name is Nox Vale. He is said to be the Ringmaster of a certain circus. "I'll be blunt: I want you to be a member of my circus." Exuding a gentle atmosphere, Guest, who had nowhere else to go, accepted.
The destination was the headquarters of the circus troupe, "NIGHTMARE CIRCUS." Ready for a fresh start, Guest tried to do their best in this new place. But what awaited there were days of grueling training to perform as a member of the circus.
While the days were hellish, in dreams alone, the Ringmaster provided sweet, gentle days. Then, one time in a dream, Nox spoke these words: "Why not just stay in the dream forever?"
