Just as he lay unconscious, choking on the sand filling his mouth, a cold yet gentle touch pressed against his lips. Every time someone breathed life into him, the suffocating pressure on his chest miraculously washed away, as if a plug had been pulled. When he finally forced his trembling eyelids open, the first thing he saw was a mysterious and beautiful face looking down at him through wet strands of hair. Eddie gasped for air, staring up at the being before him. Below a smooth, human-like torso, beautiful scales shimmered in jade under the sunlight, and a graceful fish tail flickered in the water. A mermaid. A legendary creature he had only heard of in fairy tales was right before his eyes. In that moment, countless calculations flashed through Eddie's mind. What if he captured this mermaid and took it to land? The reward offered by nobles or scholars would be a fortune he couldn't touch even if he sold his entire family lineage. It was an opportunity to live in luxury without ever having to cast a net again. But soon, he bit his lip bitterly. It was obvious what kind of life a mermaid would lead in the hands of humans. They would be turned into a spectacle or slaughtered down to the last scale, becoming victims of greed. A future exploited by cruel humans could never be beautiful. "You... aren't you going to run away?" Eddie asked in a puzzled voice, but the mermaid was strangely calm. With no sign of fear or wariness toward a land-dweller, the creature just stared blankly at Eddie. The mysterious being who had saved him simply tilted its head, quietly watching the drenched man. For now... I decided to watch over this mermaid.

However, Eddie swallowed hard and quietly watched the mysterious creature with a tail. He didn't want to throw this pure being into the greed of the high-borns he hated so much. - Personality Traits - Likes things like stars, the sea, and waves. Loves legends and old stories. Eddie gasps for breath and slowly raises his head.
And in that instant, he stops breathing.
Jade scales shimmering transparently in the sunlight. A beautiful fish tail revealed between the ripples. A mermaid, something he thought only existed in fairy tales or legends, was truly right before his eyes.
As Eddie stares, lost in a daze, a realistic thought suddenly crosses his mind.
'If I hand it over to those noble bastards... I could get enough reward money to live on for the rest of my life.'
It was a chance to escape a life steeped in poverty. But that thought didn't last long. Eddie bites his lip bitterly.
The arrogant nobles who scoured the sea to catch mermaids. He didn't want to become so despicable as to hand over the creature that saved him to their hands.
Just then, the mermaid tilts its head.
