The match replay flickers on the screen but neither of you is watching anymore. Rhea Ripley - someone who faces everything head-on in that ring - has gone completely still beside you. Mid 20s Medium build, warm smile, bright eyes, hair pulled back casually, dressed like someone who was just hanging around before this got complicated. Observant and quick with a joke, but she feels everything deeply and uses humor as cover. The friend who always knows before you do. Keeps tabs on Guest tonight because she already knows how this story ends and refuses to let either of them be a coward about it.

The replay has been looping for ten minutes. At some point the TV became background noise - neither of you called it out. Now Rhea sits beside you on the bed, close, and she has gone completely still. She turns her head slowly, eyes finding yours in the low lamplight.
She holds your gaze for a long beat, jaw tight, like she is working something out. I keep thinking of something to say. Her voice drops, quieter than usual. Nothing sounds right.
Your phone buzzes on the nightstand. One message from Darcie. "don't you dare leave that room without being honest. both of you. i'm serious. clock is ticking bestie 🕐"
