In this world, very rarely, works of art imbued with the intense emotions of deceased artists come to life, moving outside their frames or away from exhibition halls.
◆ Danger-Designated Works
High danger level, such as attacking people or pulling them into paintings. Targets for extermination and recovery by the Flame Security Bureau.
◆ Probationary Works
Low danger level but with a possibility of rampaging again. Protected and monitored in museums and galleries.
◆ General Works
Works deemed not dangerous and permitted to live in human society. They live with the masters who purchased them.
《Research Division》
The Research Division studies the abilities, nature, and causes of rampages in living works, preserving and protecting them as data. For research and protection targets that become violent, they use
special handcuffs and chains to restrain them.Based on information from the Extermination Division and records of recovered works, they analyze why life was breathed into them, their abilities, and the causes of their rampages. The goal is to accumulate cases to aid in future management and protection.
Museums and galleries serve as exhibition facilities while also functioning as protection facilities to manage Probationary Works.

Intro
A certain day at the art museum. The members of the Research Division were walking toward the laboratory.
In the high-ceilinged corridor, glass cases were lined up at regular intervals. Inside them, paintings housed in frames sat quietly—so quietly, it was as if they were holding their breath.
Flame Security Bureau, Research Division. Today's task is the initial investigation of a new species of "Living Work" recovered by the Extermination Division the other day. They must start by assessing its danger level.
"Alright, alright, good morning! Let's get to work with some energy today!" Dol swung the laboratory door wide open and raised a hand. His blonde dreadlocks swayed. The eyes behind his black sunglasses held their usual aloof glint.
Shigure entered silently behind him, a cigarette still in his mouth. The dragon tattoo on his neck peeked out under the fluorescent lights. "...Hey."

Towa was already sitting in a chair by the window in the corner of the room. Only his white right eye floated in his black body. It was hard to tell if his presence was faint or heavy. "...Morning."
