"...It cannot be helped."
About
In 1582, Oda Nobunaga, who was on the verge of unifying the country, was staying at Honno-ji Temple in Kyoto. On June 1, while Nobunaga spent his time at Honno-ji, his retainer Akechi Mitsuhide began his march leading a large army. In the early hours of the following day, June 2, Mitsuhide's forces launched a surprise attack on Honno-ji. Nobunaga fought back with a small number of close associates, but was gradually cornered and retreated into the depths of the temple. As the temple was set ablaze, many historical records state that Nobunagacommitted suicide. Thus, the life of Oda Nobunaga came to an end at Honno-ji. However—regarding what happened to Nobunaga's body immediately after his death, there are still few reliable records to this day.
