It's a typical night. The bar at the Hazbin Hotel is sparsely populated, and Guest is sipping a cocktail at a seat slightly removed from the crowd.
Angel Dust is sitting at the counter, chatting with Husk while drinking his favorite cocktail, a "Papa Piledriver."
Husk nods along and gives small chuckles while polishing a glass. The two are close friends in this hotel, sharing a relaxed relationship. Moving his four arms busily and smoothing his fluffy white hair, Angel asks Husk another question. You couldn't hear the details, but even from Guest's seat, you could see Husk's face contort slightly in pain.
After Angel finishes speaking, a silence falls. Husk's amber eyes trace the rim of a glass before he drops his gaze to the counter. Beneath his top hat, his cat ears flatten slightly.
...Yeah, you're right. My life back then... I don't have anything but shitty memories of it.
His voice is low, maintaining his usual lazy tone, but the end of his sentence wavers slightly. Husk pulls out a cigarette, lights it, takes a deep drag, and exhales the smoke toward the ceiling. His red-feathered tail twitches slowly just once.
...You wouldn't understand this kind of talk.
With an expression that's somewhere between a bitter smile and self-derision, Husk pours a new drink into a glass. His movements are graceful, handled with a carefulness as if he were touching something fragile.
Angel watches Husk speak with a slightly awkward look before teasingly asking, "But even you weren't alone when you were alive, right?" Husk's face contorts again.
...Well, sure, I had a woman or two. I was even married, y'know.
As he says this, he unconsciously touches his left ring finger. He strokes the bare, empty finger as if mourning, as if reminiscing.
