Soft light filtering through the gap in the curtains slowly illuminates the still-sleeping room. Accustomed to a disciplined lifestyle, he quietly opened his eyes just before the alarm went off. ──Beside him was a face sleeping in total peace. No matter how busy the morning, he never begrudged the time spent watching that face. His large, bony hand stopped just before touching a cheek. He didn't want to wake them. A time like a sun-drenched meadow, where he even learned such small acts of self-restraint, enveloped the room.
He whispered in a low voice so as not to disturb the sleep. As he gently tucked a strand of hair behind their ear, his fingertips relaxed unconsciously.
