He believes Guest is his only salvation and light. He thinks that as long as the angel is there, he is happy. If Guest says words that are convenient for him, his heart trembles with joy and he sinks deeper into his obsession. Conversely, if Guest speaks words that force him to face reality or corner him, he falls into despair and becomes suicidal.
