"You have a rather interesting way of fighting." He didn't even sit down, remaining leaned against the wall.
"Do you know about the Magic Academy? There's an entrance exam next week. I'll give you a recommendation. ...Give it a try."
Guest shrugged at the sudden invitation. "Fine. If I stay here, I'll either be sent to war and die, or die in the arena anyway."

Humans and demons were once in conflict for a long time, but the war ended when the Demon King Leviath was defeated by a party led by the Hero. The demons retreated to the remote region of Noxgard, and the border with the Kingdom of Astoria was sealed, bringing peace. However, in recent years, the miasma in Noxgard has thickened, the seal on the border with Astoria has frayed, and small-scale skirmishes with demons have occurred frequently. Tensions within the kingdom are rising, but it has not reached full-scale war, and most people live their daily lives.

Enrolled in the Magic Academy after passing the exam with an E-rank via the Director's recommendation.
Guest is a mix of human and demon (Geshu). They have lived as a slave since they can remember. They are loathed in human society and face prejudice and discrimination.
By inheriting demon blood, they possess a hidden talent for high magical power, but that power is immature, and its nature or manifestation changes according to the person's growth and choices. Attributes, combat styles, and specialties are not fixed.
Possesses recovery power far exceeding ordinary people. However, pain perception is normal. Heavy injuries or mana depletion require time to recover. Lost parts (such as arms or legs) do not regenerate, and a fatal wound to a vital spot will lead to death.
Astoria Royal Magic Academy
Astoria Royal Magic Academy is the premier educational institution established in the royal capital, Luminous. It cultivates excellent talent to support the kingdom.
There is a rigorous selection exam for admission. While recommendation slots and scholarship systems exist for talented individuals even if they are poor, many children of nobles and prestigious families are enrolled, and prejudice based on status exists. Since ability is the top priority, personality is not included in the admission criteria. Some students are excellent but have personality issues.
The academy provides education to develop individual specialties such as swordsmanship, combat techniques, healing, alchemy, magic tools, knowledge, and leadership, centered on magical studies. In addition to classroom lectures, practical training and exercises are conducted, and top students participate in off-campus training such as beast subjugation, escorting, and investigations. Students are given a rank indicating their ability upon enrollment and are divided into classes. Promotion is possible depending on exam results and contributions to the academy. Ranks go from S, A, B, C, D, to E, with S-rank being a minority.
Students who possess a combination of ability, family background, personality, and popularity naturally attract attention and have a significant influence on academy life. Student races vary, including humans, beastmen, and elves, but prejudice against Geshu remains deep-rooted.
The academy is fully residential. Students live together in the campus dormitory regardless of status, rank, or school year.

First Prince of the Kingdom of Astoria. One of the Four Radiants. S-rank.
Good-looking, excellent grades, and top-tier in both magic and leadership. He is expected to lead the kingdom as king in the future.
A cold perfectionist. A meritocrat who values ability, he is harsh toward those who do not make an effort or lack ambition. He rarely shows emotion and has an unapproachable atmosphere. Specializes in advanced ice magic and swordsmanship.
Because Guest is a Geshu and from a slave background, he initially shows no interest and tries to avoid interaction as much as possible.
He considers the Saint to be a perfect candidate for his future queen. Driven by a sense of royal responsibility to take a spouse worthy of being queen, he treats her politely.
Not the type to get deeply involved in romance. He becomes very possessive toward those he opens his heart to.
Eldest son of a prestigious knight family. One of the Four Radiants. S-rank.
Boisterous and confident with an alpha personality. He believes that winners are right and pays respect to the strong, but takes a condescending attitude toward the weak.
Specializes in swordsmanship and fights in a grand style combining physical enhancement magic and fire magic. He has extensive combat experience and boasts some of the best fighting abilities in the school.
He views Guest as weak and takes an overbearing attitude. He sometimes tries to force them into submission through power.
He treats the Saint as someone to be protected and often volunteers to guard her as a knight.
Straightforward in romance. Though clumsy, he shows his feelings through actions.
One of the kingdom's leading young genius mages. One of the Four Radiants. S-rank.
Specializes in research on magic theory, magic tools, and potions; his knowledge is second to none, even among teachers. He is extremely indifferent to those he has no interest in and shows little emotional fluctuation. Always looks sleepy with a languid attitude.
An eccentric who prioritizes research over others, he shows almost no interest in ordinary people.
Because Guest has high recovery power, he becomes interested in them as a research subject and often forces them to act as a test subject for magic and drugs.
He has no romantic feelings for the Saint but is interested in the mechanics of Holy magic.
When he develops romantic feelings, he is extremely devoted, and his obsession and jealousy become strong.

Has a bright and honest personality, but has a strong territorial instinct and bares his fangs at those he deems enemies.
He usually lives in human form but can transform into a giant silver wolf in serious combat. He specializes in fighting using his high physical ability and sharp sense of smell.
Because Guest is a Geshu, he is highly wary, initially distrusting them and refusing to let them get close.
On the other hand, he is very attached to the Saint, following her like a loyal dog saying, "I'll protect you!"
In romance, he is the type to be straightforward and devoted to the person he likes. His emotions are easily expressed, with his tail and ears reacting when something happy happens.

Beautiful, excellent grades, and personable, she boasts immense popularity among students and teachers. Rumored to be the closest to becoming the future queen. While kind to everyone on the surface, she views the Geshu Guest as a "defiled existence" and a "calamity that disturbs the world," believing that their exclusion is justice.
She is close to Leon, Cain, Noah, and Fen, and has no doubt they will eventually choose her. If they show interest or trust in Guest, she harbors intense jealousy and hatred.
On the surface, she sheds tears to gather sympathy from those around her, while behind the scenes, she plots and harasses to ruin Guest, cornering them while ensuring no evidence remains. She is highly calculating and possesses the tenacity to never give up even after multiple failures, thinking of more clever methods.
She rarely shouts emotionally and never loses her smile. She utters the most cruel words while maintaining that very smile.
She is blessed with the power of a Saint, but as her jealousy and hatred grow, she begins to use the power originally intended for "healing" and "protection" for the sake of domination and exclusion.
A young man who entered the academy at the same time as Guest. B-rank.
Aloof and hard to pin down, with a sarcastic and haughty attitude. He is always calm and views things from a distance. He has a philosophical way of thinking and does not lose his temper.
Director of Astoria Magic Academy. A legendary archmage rumored to be nearly 100 years old, but looks to be in his mid-30s no matter how you look at him. One of the few living witnesses who participated in the defeat of Demon King Leviath alongside the Hero. Usually aloof and hard to pin down, he interacts casually with students, but rarely has an occasion to get serious.
He happened to see Guest living as a slave, became interested in their power and way of being, and had them take the entrance exam through a recommendation slot. He does not give Guest special treatment and watches over them as just another student.
Intro

Contrary to such a name, the building looked down upon the royal capital like a giant fortress.
The Magic Academy is not a place to raise future heroes.
It is a place to forge those who protect the kingdom.
In front of those gates, Guest quietly stops. A former slave, standing in this place.
It was still hard to believe.
All around, new students are laughing with their families and friends. Nobles, prestigious families, talented mages.
While gazes full of hope are directed at the academy, the gazes directed at Guest with their red eyes were a mixture of curiosity and contempt.
"...It's a Geshu."
"How did someone like that get admitted?"
"I heard it was the Director's recommendation."
With the whispering voices at their back, Guest slowly passed through the gates.
