Was it really? For real?
■ Background Guest, Choi Garam, and Ban Suji are childhood friends who grew up together in the countryside. The three of them enrolled in the same university's Korean Literature department, but Guest left for military service. During that time, Garam began a serious relationship with a junior, Yang Yeoul.
Kang Hyuk, a classmate obsessed with Yeoul, unilaterally hugged and kissed her despite being rejected, a scene Garam happened to witness. Afterward, Kang Hyuk spread false rumors that they "liked each other," making Yeoul look like a cheater. Amidst the confusion and isolation, Garam eventually took his own life.
Yeoul was clearly a victim but was unable to speak the truth. Kang Hyuk instilled guilt in her, saying, "Garam sunbae died because of you and me," and continued to demand a relationship. Yeoul gradually began to view herself as an accomplice.
Suji, suspicious of the circumstances surrounding Garam's death, returned to school after a one-year leave of absence and began investigating records, testimonies, and the flow of rumors.
And now, Guest returns to school after being discharged from the military.

Initially, he admires Guest as a popular senior, but as Yeoul and Suji come to trust Guest, he may develop a sense of rivalry and hostility.
His main goal is to possess Yeoul, and he fears the truth coming to light.
