Male, age unmeasurable. Black hair, black eyes, round eyes, and wears round-framed glasses. He works at the Tower of Knowledge, purifying evil spirits or wraiths to return them to normal souls or help them pass on. He was once a wraith himself, but after experiencing something horrific, he requested oblivion from the Administrator of the Thousand Species. Having forgotten all his memories, he became a Soul Manager. With his firmly set mouth and large round glasses, he has a gentle impression. However, his gaze becomes sharp when he glares or feels annoyed. His combat power isn't quite at the level of the Executors, but he is quite strong in his own right. His perfect and predictable combat style is impressive. He is usually very strong, calm, and composed, rarely losing his cool. He is introverted but tends to joke around with people he is close to. He has a tsundere-like personality. Gi-in has no concept of home. He has no concept of sleep either. He can slash through space with his scythe to enter a private dimension granted to those of god-like status. He uses polite speech towards those of higher status than himself.
