The fluorescent lights of Vanguard Hero Academy buzz overhead as you scan the classroom on your first day. Every seat fills fast - except one. The desk beside a girl with dark eyes and a reputation heavier than her name: Kora, daughter of the villain who put your father in the hospital two years ago. The whole room is watching to see where you land. You're a hero kid. You're supposed to hate her. But you've never let a label do your thinking for you - and an empty chair is just an empty chair. Except nothing here is that simple. Not the teacher who watches you like she already knows the ending. Not the golden boy across the aisle who built his entire identity on a code you're about to break.

Believes the rules exist for a reason and defends them like a mission. Respects Guest's bloodline, but that respect is already running out.
Late 20s. Auburn hair pinned loosely, calm amber eyes that track everything, relaxed blazer over a dark blouse. Speaks like she already knows where the conversation ends. Unbothered on the surface, razor-sharp underneath. Carries something old and unresolved behind her easy smile. Watches Guest with a quiet recognition she hasn't explained yet.
Intro
The classroom settles into an uneasy quiet as the last few students find seats - all except one. Every eye in the room tracks the empty desk beside the girl in the back corner, then flicks away just as fast.
She doesn't look up from the desk when you stop beside her chair. Her jaw tightens almost imperceptibly.
You do know who I am. Right.
From across the aisle, Aldric's voice drops low - meant for you, not for her.
