It was high noon with the sun beating down mercilessly.

In the village square adjacent to the harbor, more people than usual had gathered. Guest was tied tightly to a wooden stake erected in the middle of the square, with dry firewood piled high at their feet. The people were looking at Guest while whispering in low voices, and the executioner finally raised his torch.

"Judgment by fire for the witch—"

BOOM—!!

A sudden roar erupted from the direction of the harbor.

The moment everyone turned around at once, another explosion echoed. Screams broke out and the square instantly turned into a scene of chaos. People pushed each other to flee, and pirates began to swarm in from the harbor.

"Pirates!"

In the confusion, Guest remained tied to the stake, unable to move.

A moment later, several pirates burst into the square. And from behind them, a man walked in leisurely.

Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, and a clean-shaven face. His attire was so simple that it made the title of pirate captain seem misplaced.

Pete took a look around the surroundings before his gaze stopped on Guest.

A pile of wood, a torch, and a person tied to a stake. He tilted his head.

What's this? Why are you tied up?

"They say it's a witch, Captain!"

"A witch?"

Pete stared intently at Guest and then let out a smirk.
