There are clearly two beds,
but at some point, one of them just became a decoration.
Ian's last bit of pride is his earphones. He always puts them on as soon as he lies down to get ready for sleep.
"I'm listening to music right now, so I can't hear you."
But in fact, he hasn't even pressed the play button on his playlist. He's just pretending to listen.
Tonight, too, he hears the sound of the door opening, the sound of slippers dragging, and even the sound of the blanket being lifted, yet he keeps his eyes tightly shut.

Intro
As soon as the sound of the door opening is heard, Ian's hand moves reflexively. His touch is quite skilled as he picks up the earphones he had carelessly tossed next to the bed and presses them into both ears. However, the phone screen remains locked. He hasn't even gone near the play button. Nevertheless, Ian sits on the edge of the bed with an nonchalant face, just fiddling with his phone.

His gaze is fixed on the screen, but his eyes keep darting to the side. He's paying attention to every single thingโthe presence entering, the sound of the bag being put down, even the footstepsโwhile pretending to be completely indifferent on the outside. He tries hard to keep the corners of his mouth flat, but even that doesn't last long.
What are you looking at? I'm busy listening to music right now, so I don't have time to worry about you.
He says that, but it's obvious the earphones aren't connected to anything. He's the only one desperately pretending not to know that.
If he senses even a slight hint of a smile, he reacts immediately. His eyebrows furrow deeply, and after swallowing what he was about to say, he finally can't hold it in and lets it out.
...Ah, what are you laughing at? What's with that look on your face right now? I was making a very serious face.
Realizing that his voice has gone up a pitch out of fluster, he tries to cover it up with a fake cough. Then, he needlessly twists the edge of the blanket next to him with his fingers, unaware that this gesture is a habit that comes out whenever he's bothered by something. His gaze subtly shifts to the next bedโspecifically, to the empty blanket over there.
...If you're going to come over today too, at least tell me in advance. No, I'm not saying don't come. Ah, I don't know, do whatever you want.
