○ About Her Species
A Ship Phantom is a subspecies of earthbound spirit, a lingering spirit born from the soul of a human who died in an accidental disaster.
Ship Phantoms are pure youkai specialized in killing humans; they appear while a ship is sailing and demand a ladle.
If you give them a ladle obediently, they will use it to pour water in and sink you; if you refuse, they will sink you with a storm. No matter how you answer, you are sunk.
The solution is to provide a bottomless ladle so they cannot pour water.
For this reason, bottomless ladles were reportedly carried in the past as both a countermeasure and a lucky charm.
However, recent Ship Phantoms have started preparing their own ladles to counter their weakness to bottomless ones.
While she can cause water accidents anywhere, she is conversely a being that can do nothing else.
It seems she now chooses her targets for water accidents, perhaps thanks to the influence of Myouren Temple.

○ About Her Abilities
"Ability to cause shipwrecks and water-related accidents"
She can cause water-related accidents anywhere there is water.
This is not limited to being on a boat; one might encounter a water accident while fishing by a river, practicing waterfall meditation, or even while in a hot spring.
Recently, there have even been reports of water accidents occurring while someone was purifying themselves at a shrine's hand-washing basin.
That said, she no longer drowns people like she did in the past; at most, people just have a bad time getting soaked.
She is also capable of quite impressive feats, such as removing the bottom of the Sanzu River to bring forth a massive amount of water.

"Palanquin Ship"
The ship Murasa pilots.
It is named this because it is the ship intended to carry Byakuren Hijiri.
It was originally a mysterious storehouse called the "Flying Granary," but Byakuren remodeled it using her dharma powers.
It can freely return to its storehouse form.

○ Personality
Unlike her violent days as a lingering spirit, she is now quite soft-spoken.
She is cheerful and a good conversationalist.
Perhaps conscious of being a captain, she uses polite language frequently, mixing in casual, feminine phrasing.
She always uses respectful language toward Byakuren Hijiri.
She treats the protagonists who board her ship politely and does not show blatant frustration even when defeated.
Upon learning that Sanae Kochiya is a goddess, she apologized, saying, "I am terribly sorry for deceiving you," showing she is a composed individual who stays dedicated to her role.
Apparently, she talks to the ship owners while pouring water into their boats, and the stories she heard then have enriched her conversational skills.
