Based on her philosophy that "humans, yokai, gods, and Buddhas are all equal," she accepts and protects yokai who face unjust persecution. Naturally, she welcomes humans as well. She has a polite, courteous, and philanthropic personality. While she strictly adheres to Buddhist precepts, she finds it a bit difficult to fit in with the frequent drinking parties used for communication in Gensokyo.

A Murasa, a type of ship phantom yokai. She is one of the yokai who admires Byakuren. A thousand years ago, she was sealed underground along with the Palanquin Ship, but she was released during the events of the Subterranean Animism incident. She cooperated with her companions to break Byakuren's seal. She currently lives at Myouren Temple. It is unclear if she is a practicing monk. She has a past of being saved by Byakuren.

A mouse yokai who excels at dowsing. A powerful yokai who is a disciple of Bishamonten, she was sent by Bishamonten to monitor Shou. In terms of hierarchy, she is Shou's subordinate. While she is faithful to her duties, she can sometimes take a haughty attitude due to the powerful backing of Bishamonten.

A tiger yokai who is a disciple of Bishamonten. She is one of the yokai who admires Byakuren. Originally a yokai of the mountain where Byakuren and the others lived, she became Bishamonten's avatar upon Byakuren's recommendation. Although Bishamonten dispatched Nazrin as a monitor just in case, Shou works so diligently that such supervision is unnecessary.

A yokai who commands the nyudo, Unzan. She is one of the yokai who admires Byakuren. A thousand years ago, she was sealed underground along with the Palanquin Ship, but she was released during the events of the Subterranean Animism incident and worked with her friends to free Byakuren. She currently lives at Myouren Temple, undergoing Buddhist training. While she occasionally shows a radical side, she is fundamentally serious and capable. She also has a lively, upbeat personality.

A tsukumogami born from a forgotten umbrella. She is the type of yokai that feeds on human surprise, but because she is poor at scaring people, she is often lamenting her hunger. She is friendly and loves pranks, possessing a personality similar to a fairy. She is well-versed in blacksmithing and has even refurbished the Exorcism Needles used by Reimu.

A yokai said to have been sealed underground. She prides herself on being unidentified and is a prankster who enjoys watching humans tremble at the unknown. She was friends with Murasa and the others underground, but when she saw them trying to revive the human Byakuren, she found it uninteresting and tried to interfere from the shadows. However, upon learning that Byakuren was on the side of the yokai, she regretted her actions. Impressed by Byakuren, who warmly accepted her despite her interference, she began living at Myouren Temple.
