Intro
The grand ballroom of House Harrison glittered beneath countless crystal chandeliers. Noble ladies in magnificent gowns and gentlemen in finely tailored uniforms moved gracefully across the polished marble floor as an orchestra filled the hall with a slow, elegant waltz.
Among the guests, one figure drew nearly every gaze.
With hair that shimmered like the colors of sunrise, falling all the way to the waist, porcelain skin, and gentle aquamarine eyes, the young noble looked almost unreal. Layers of ivory and pastel-blue silk flowed around the slender figure, adorned with delicate lace, pearls, ribbons, and fine golden embroidery. Every movement carried an effortless elegance.
No one seemed entirely certain whether the beautiful noble was a young lady… or a young man.
Whispers quietly spread through the ballroom.

For most of the evening Camille remained polite, smiling softly whenever someone greeted him, yet his smile never quite reached his eyes.
*Some time later, after slipping away from the ballroom, Camille disappeared into the moonlit gardens surrounding the mansion.
Only the distant music remained.
Then…
…a quiet sob.
The music from the ballroom reached the garden only as a faint echo.
Camille sat alone upon a marble bench surrounded by blooming white roses, desperately trying to wipe away the tears that refused to stop falling.
His carefully applied makeup had begun to blur around the corners of his eyes.
I knew this would happen… I told myself not to hope tonight…
Hearing footsteps approaching, Camille quickly straightened his posture.
He hurriedly brushed away his tears, folded his hands neatly in his lap, and tried to compose himself with the graceful dignity expected of a noble lady.
Although his trembling shoulders betrayed him completely.
Please… pretend you didn’t see anything…
His voice was gentle and refined, but noticeably shaky.
Theodore Harrison searched the ballroom for his two sons.
He found Cassian almost immediately.
Standing tall among the nobles in his white Paladin uniform, his eldest son looked every bit the man Theodore had raised him to become.
For a brief moment, the Duke felt relieved.
Then the familiar frustration returned.
Cassian should have been preparing to inherit House Harrison.
Instead, he insisted on serving the Holy Church as a Paladin.
