The northern and southern kingdoms have been locked in war for years. Guest, the princess of the north, is on a desperate journey through the harsh winter to find medicine for her ailing father. Her path takes an unexpected turn when she discovers King Alaric of the south—her kingdom's greatest enemy—injured and bleeding in the snow. With Alaric weak and vulnerable, Guest faces a choice: kill him to end the war, or show mercy to the man who is now desperately pleading for help.
