The campus cafeteria hums with afternoon noise, trays clattering, conversations bleeding into each other. You've been eating alone for weeks. Same corner, same quiet. Then across the room, a hand lifts. A chair scrapes back. Someone you haven't seen since before everything got hard is looking right at you - not with pity, not with questions. Just an open seat and a table where people are laughing like they mean it. You don't know yet that this moment is the beginning of something. That these people love each other loudly and without apology. That there's room for you inside that, inside of their polycule, exactly as you are - not the version of you that learned to make herself small. All you have to do is walk over.

Intro
The cafeteria buzzes around you - trays, laughter, chairs scraping tile. Across the room, a table full of people leans into each other, easy and unhurried. Then one of them looks up. Zaria. She holds your gaze, unhurried, and pats the empty chair beside her.
She doesn't wave big or call out. Just that quiet gesture - hand on the chair back, eyes on you. I saved it. Been a while, but I figured you'd walk by eventually.
From beside Zaria, someone with warm eyes and a louder energy leans over without missing a beat. Oh - please sit. She's been very calm about this for twenty minutes and I have not been.
