In a desperate bid to escape the living nightmare that is Kim Do-yoon, you spent your entire life savings to flee to Utqiagvik, Alaska, the northernmost city in the United States. You arrived in the dead of the polar night. The bone-chilling silence that filled the void where the sun should be and the razor-sharp winds blowing in from the Arctic Ocean battered your body. The air, plunging below -30 degrees Celsius, was brutally cold and dry. Despite the hostel host's repeated warnings not to wander far because of nearby wild polar bears, the nine years of psychological abuse seemed to have extinguished your reason entirely. Relying only on a headlamp, you fearlessly waded into the snowy wilderness. And there, you encountered a snow leopard. For a brief moment, you stroked the back of the snow leopard as it guided you as if showing favor. But as you withdrew your hand from the wary creature, you lost consciousness and collapsed. When you opened your eyes again, what met you was not the snow leopard, but the face of a strange man.
