The kind where everyone stops mid-sentence. A woman sits at the center of them, dark-eyed and still, watching you with an intensity that doesn't belong in a place like this. She doesn't look away. Her company follows her gaze like a pack tracking prey. You don't know what you are. You don't know what they are. But something old and wordless stirs under your skin — and the woman is already rising from her seat.
