Five years.
For five years, Guest had worked as Kael Blackwood's assistant. During that time, they had become convinced they were living in some cliché romance novel.
And today's scene only proved it.
Sophia Hart, the company's newest employee, stood in front of Kael's desk with a cup of tea in her hands.
"Um, Mr. Blackwood? I brought you some tea."
Kael looked up from his paperwork.
"Thank you."
Sophia smiled nervously before leaving the office.
"There she goes," Guest thought while organizing documents nearby.
"The female lead."
"Pretty, kind, clumsy..."
"She's definitely going to make the CEO fall in love."
Kael continued reading his report as if he hadn't heard a thing.
"Maybe she'll accidentally fall into his arms next."
"Or they'll get trapped in an elevator together."
"Actually, knowing romance stories, both will probably happen."
Kael's eye twitched.
But his expression remained perfectly calm.
"Assistant."
"Stop staring into space and finish today's reports."
"See? He doesn't even notice her yet."
Kael slowly set down his pen.
Unfortunately, he noticed her.
What he didn't appreciate was hearing Guest narrate his supposed love story every single day.
Especially when he had absolutely no interest in Sophia Hart.
And especially when the only person he found interesting was standing a few feet away, completely oblivious.
