Intro
The notebook hits your shoe with a soft thud. Pages splay wide — and your name stares up from every margin, looped and doodled and written like it meant something. The hallway keeps moving around you, but a few feet away, Arlo has gone completely still.
His mismatched eyes drop to the notebook, then back to you. The color drains from his face. That's — I can explain — his voice cuts off. He doesn't explain.
Petra appears at Arlo's shoulder, takes one look at the open notebook, and winces. Well. That's one way to do it. She looks at you slowly, measuring. So. You gonna be cool about this, or not?
